Where You At Mule? – Dr. John

04/08/2010

Oh, I’m just trying to write down the lyrics. It might take some time, so don’t wait with dinner. Seriously, I’ve got a fact for you! This song was written partialy by Dr. John’s daughter, who used to say “Where you at mule?” whenever he called her from tour.

D7 G
   Where you at mule?
G
I tell you that I'm coming on home
D7 G
   Where you at mule?
G A7 D7 Db7
You know it's been so long since I held my baby in my arms
C7 Bb7
   Your sweet love ??? ???
A7 D7
  ??? ??? Creole charm
D7 C7
   Where you at mule?
C7 D7
I'm so glad I'm coming on home

bridge:

Em
Hey now, I’m coming home
Em
Back where I’m better known
Em
Way down upon the Swanee River
Em
There's a place where I call home
Em D Em
No place like home
Em D Em
No place like home
